About me
I've been writing stories and drawing pictures most of my life. My first drawings were grandiose religious compositions scrawled inside the front flaps of my coloring books. My first writing usually had to do with detectives and animals.
The past 10 years of my life have been spent working in journalism. I've worked for two dailies, an alt-weekly newspaper, a monthly magazine and a chain of gay publications--though not necessarily in that order. I contribute stories, personal columns and illustrations to a range of print and online publications.
I grew up in the South (which means I like sweat tea and hot weather) and graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism (which means I prefer beer to liquor, unless we're at brunch). After living in New York City for a stint, my boyfriend and I returned to Atlanta in early 2007. I'm focusing now on freelancing. He's focusing on the weather.
