stupid cupid

Another Valentine's Day is upon us, and this week the Loaf's Blotter Diva opted for a special love-themed edition of the crime report. I've been illustrating the column for, gosh, six or seven years now, and have doodled many a domestic dispute in that time, but I think this is the first time Cupid has ever appeared in one of my drawings.

One a related/unrelated note, the single most popular post ever here at TRAYB.com remains my Valentine's Day missive from 2006. That post gets exponentially more hits than any other page in the archives, but not because of its brilliant prose or clever commentary on this most dreaded of holidays. No, it's the gods of Google who send lonely searchers my way, thanks to the post's inclusion of the term "Chrissy behind," quoted from the Peaches song.
And no, I still don't know what a "Chrissy behind" is, though years later the consensus seems to be that it has to do with Suzanne Somers. (An opposing, and minority, view references Chrissie Hynde. As much as I love the Pretenders, I can't imagine that's actually the case.)
So what is a Chrissy behind? Perhaps the world will never know.
