Here's my new drawing for AirTran's Go magazine. This month's business technology column discussed "mcommerce": using mobile devices for advertising and marketing. It was one of those illustrations that sort of created itself. Once I had the image of the red-haired kid down, the other characters all flowed out naturally. Seeing it now a few weeks later, I realize that maybe the guy in the upper left looks a little too hypnotized by the dollar sign, which is borderline creepy. The lady on the lower right was inspired by a photo of Atlanta mayor Shirley Franklin. Now fix my pot holes, lady!
A technical question for you Adobe Creative Suite users: Although I'm pleased with how this illustration turned out, I have a nagging sense that the colors on screen appear less crisp and vibrant than they do in Illustrator. I'm using CS4, but the final image gets converted to a tif (and above, a jpeg) via Photoshop. Any thoughts on what I should be doing differently?
