For this week's Blotter, I did something unusual: I created the entire background in Illustrator, instead of my usual scanned line drawings. Though my illustration teacher at SVA sneered at all-digital works, I sorta liked how this one turned out. At the same time, I feel like my artwork is starting to fall into a new rut. I really need a new challenge on that front, or some new inspiration.

i like it tray! i've always thought you've done an awesome job...thats why i'm keeping those paintings we did - they ARE 'TrayB' originals - i may be able to pawn them off for some moolah when you make it big ;) lol
Aww man, your illustration teacher sneered at digital work? He's behind the times. Actually, I can understand his prejudice (because most people integrate the programs poorly), but when done well, digital touches to a piece can create really cool results. Just check out http://kirstenulve.com/flash/ ...personally, I think she's a great example of how digital work can SHINE. You couldn't get her shimmering look by hand!
